Audio Installation (19’)
A 3D sound installation that recreates New Covent Garden Flower Market, the UK’s largest flower market, recorded ambisonically before its demolition in 2017. The installation was presented at the new market site, resurrecting a sonic memory of its cultural and social precursor. By omitting images of the former building and its people, the piece underscores the inability to revive the place completely, the sense of loss owing to capitalistic interests in the city, and also how memory yet persists within the absent architecture and psyche of the workers. Flowers distributed to visitors and watered at intervals as a durational performance during the installation.
